Anderlecht have reportedly reached an agreement with Newcastle United to take striker Aleksandar Mitrovic on loan until the end of the season.
The Serbia international, who spent two years in Brussels prior to joining the Magpies, is understood to have knocked back approaches from Bordeaux and Hamburger SV.
Mitrovic has been left disappointed by a lack of minutes since helping Newcastle to Premier League promotion last season, with his misery further compounded by news that a permanent transfer to Brighton & Hove Albion was blocked last week.
A number of other options still remained on the table, however, and Sky Sports News claims that the 23-year-old will now return to Anderlecht.
The report suggests that Mitrovic boarded a private jet in the North-East on Wednesday afternoon and is hopeful of arriving in the Belgian capital in time to complete the formalities.
