Newcastle United have made a fresh bid for Montpellier star Remy Cabella, reports suggest.
The attacking midfielder has been a target for Newcastle for the last two transfer windows, and the club are now keen to wrap the deal up and bring the player to Tyneside.
Chairman Mike Ashley will now release funds for the transfer, who is seen as someone who can strengthen their attack, according to the Shields Gazette.
The Magpies had a £6.5m bid rejected earlier this summer, with Montpellier believed to be wanting around double that figure.
Cabella was called into an injury-hit France squad for the World Cup after initially being on the standby list, but failed to make an appearance at the tournament.
