Newcastle United defender Davide Santon has called for the club's owners to add quality to the Magpies' depleted squad during the transfer window.
Alan Pardew's side have suffered a series of long-term injuries to key players in the last few months.
Yohan Cabaye and Steven Taylor are among the regular starters due to miss a large chunk of the season, with an unfamiliar Toon side slipping closer to a relegation battle.
Santon thinks that Newcastle's need for additions is obvious and wants signings that can help the Toon climb the table quickly.
He told reporters: "It's not my job to sign players but the people in charge know what we have to do.
"Anyone who comes in must help us finish the season as best we can. We have to think positive and keep a strong mentality."
Newcastle are just two points clear of the relegation zone ahead of tonight's match against Everton at St James' Park.
