Newport County have signed defender Matt Taylor from Cheltenham Town on a one-year deal.
The 33-year-old has previously had spells with Exeter City, Charlton Athletic, Bradford City and has over 200 Football League appearances under his belt.
Exiles manager Terry Butcher told the club's official website: "I was looking at a strong centre-half, someone that's a leader, someone that can give the boys some experience and pass that on as well.
"With the average age of the team being quite low we needed experience in that area and we're delighted we've got him."
Newport, who begin their pre-season programme away to Undy Athletic on Tuesday, are rebuilding their squad after 15 players departed at the end of last season.
