Football rumours from the media

Ismalia Sarr, James Chester and Ander Herrera are being talked about on Tuesday.

What the papers say

Declan Rice has been offered a new contract at West Ham, but he may end up leaving the Hammers for a better pay deal, according to the Daily Mail. The paper reports Rice, 19, turned down a £12,000-a-week deal and the Sun says other defenders on the club’s books, like Fabian Balbuena and Issa Diop, are paid more.

Rennes winger Ismaila Sarr could soon swap Ligue 1 for the Premier League, with Arsenal considering a move for the Senegal international, the Daily Mirror says. The paper adds that Inter Milan are also in for the 20-year-old who is valued at around £20m.

Aston Villa want to tie down James Chester to the club with a new contract after the Championship side secured a new deal with Jack Grealish, reports the Daily Telegraph. The 29-year-old was wanted by Stoke over the summer.

Anton Rodgers, son of Celtic manager Brendan, could sign for Falkirk following a trial, the Herald says. Rodgers, a midfielder, has formerly been on the books of Oldham and Swindon.

Sven-Goran Eriksson is heading back to the managerial hotseat with Iranian side Tractor Sazi, following in the footsteps of Wales’ John Toshack who was sacked earlier this month, reports the Sun.
