A brace from Jordan Rhodes helps Huddersfield set a new record of 43 Football League games unbeaten, eclipsing the record set by Brian Clough's Nottingham Forest.

Huddersfield have set a new record of Football League games unbeaten after edging past Notts County 2-1 at the Galpharm.

In-form Scotland international Jordan Rhodes scored both goals for the Terriers who have now gone 43 games without losing. The run includes 25 wins and 18 draws.

Following a cagey first half, Rhodes put the home side ahead after just 26 seconds of the second period.

Huddersfield were then reduced to ten men after Alan Lee's elbow on Sam Sodje but Rhodes put the game out of sight in the 65th minute.

The new record eclipses that of Brian Clough's Nottingham Forest in the '70s.

Lee Clark's side's next target will be the 49-game run of the 'Invincible' Arsenal team of 2003/04, they can reach 50 unbeaten at Wycombe on January 6.
