La Liga will introduce video assistant referee (VAR) technology next season, the Spanish football federation has confirmed.
The governing body's president Juan Luis Larrea said that the league will adopt the system from the beginning of the 2018-19 campaign.
"For next season. That is our intention," he told Spanish radio station Cadena SER.
"Technology is now coming into football and you have to accept it."
Used to review goals, red cards, penalty decisions and cases of mistaken identity, VAR will be trialled in more than 70 matches before being rolled out across La Liga, which is still yet to adopt goal-line technology.
Italy's Serie A and the German Bundesliga will also introduce the system next season.
