Michael Owen "excited for new season"

Michael Owen has revealed that he is already "excited" for the start of the new Premier League season, despite announcing his retirement this summer.

The former England striker, who has previously played for Liverpool, Real Madrid and Manchester United, spent his final season in club football with Stoke City.

"So excited for next seasons Premier League already with so many clubs employing new managers. Expect plenty of player movement soon too," he tweeted.

Owen has also recently ruled out the possibility of continuing his playing career in the Middle East.
