Hubert Fournier bemoans Lyon impatience against Nice

Hubert Founier suggests his Lyon team "went to pieces" after conceding the first goal of their game with Nice.

Lyon manager Hubert Fournier has claimed that his team "went to pieces" after Nice opening the scoring in Friday's game at the Allianz Riviera.

In the end, OL conceded three, including an own-goal from Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa as they lost further ground on leaders Paris Saint-Germain.

However, Fournier has suggested that several aspects of Lyon's game were not as they should have been.

He is quoted by Ligue 1's official website as saying: "Taking the match as a whole, we deserved to lose. We started well and had chances in the opening minutes. And then after they opened the scoring we went to pieces. Impatience demobilised us and the second goal really hurt us.

"We didn't have the right answers to get back into it. It has stopped us in our tracks after the good things we showed against Saint-Etienne. When some players are off colour then it impacts on the team.

"[Mathieu] Valbuena was no worse than the others despite the day he'd had. The Nice fans were dignified and respectful during the homage at the start of the game."

Valbuena was quizzed by police regarding allegations of blackmail, relating to a sex tape.
