Christophe Mandanne double against Nice ends Guingamp's losing streak

Christophe Mandanne's second-half brace secures Guingamp a 2-1 victory over Nice which ends their three-match winless run and extends Nice's losing streak.

Christophe Mandanne's second-half brace secured Guingamp a 2-1 victory over Nice this evening that saw them climb three places in the Ligue 1 table.

The French striker's first goal was cancelled out by Eric Bautheac but he quickly replied to ensure that his side ended a three-match losing streak in the league.

Baissama Sankoh sent a header straight at Mouez Hassan as Guingamp made a decent start against a Nice team who had also suffered three straight defeats.

Mathieu Bodmer was needed to make a crucial block to prevent Thibault Giresse from putting the visitors ahead, and then supplied Carlos Eduardo with Nice's best chance of the first half, only for Jonas Lossl to make the save.

What had previously been a pretty uneventful affair sprung to life when Mandanne headed Reynald Lemaitre's cross past Hassan, and Guingamp missed chances to extend their lead through Giresse and Sylvain Marveaux.

Bautheac punished them by scoring Nice's equaliser on 57 minutes after being teed up by Eduardo, only for Mandanne to score Guingamp's winner four minutes later with a smart finish from Jeremy Pied's cross.

The result sees Jocelyn Gourvennec's side move four points clear of 15th-placed Nice and level with Lille in eighth.
