Hull City recovered from going a goal down against non-League North Ferriby United to seal a 2-1 win in the annual Billy Bly Memorial Trophy at the Eon Visual Media Stadium this evening.
The home side took the lead when Emerton's corner picked out an unmarked Danny Hone inside the box, who calmly headed home after 11 minutes.
Sone Aluko sent a 20-yard strike over the top of Adam Nicklin's goal as the Championship side searched for a way back into the game.
Aluko then fired over when well placed inside the North Ferriby box, before Nicklin denied the Nigerian forward once more with a save from close range on the stroke of half time.
Hull drew level within 10 minutes of the restart when Aluko's free kick beat Nicklin and cannoned into the crossbar, with Greg Luer nodding home the rebound.
Steve Bruce's side completed the turnaround when Alex Bruce rose highest to head home Matty Dixon's corner on the hour mark.
Luer could have then had a second but his effort was scrambled off the line late on, before Bruce was dismissed for an off-the-ball altercation leaving the Tigers to see out the game with 10 men.
