Report: Jonny Evans pulls out of Northern Ireland squad

A report claims that West Bromwich Albion defender Jonny Evans will play no part in Northern Ireland's crucial Euro 2016 double-header next week due to injury.

Northern Ireland have reportedly been dealt a huge injury blow with the news that Jonny Evans has had to pull out of their latest squad.

The West Bromwich Albion centre-back is thought to have tweaked his hamstring in Saturday afternoon's meeting with Crystal Palace.

No official update has been given on the defender's fitness ahead of next week's crucial Euro 2016 double-header against Greece and Finland, but Belfast Live claims that Evans will play no part in either game.

Gareth McAuley is also a concern for Northern Ireland, while Kyle Lafferty, Conor McLaughlin and Chris Baird have each been ruled out through injury and suspension.

Should Evans officially be deemed unfit, Watford's Craig Cathcart will likely be given the nod to start in the heart of defence.
