The Football Association have rejected Norwich City's appeal over the dismissal of goalkeeper Mark Bunn in their 1-1 draw with Sunderland on Sunday.
Norwich were unhappy with referee Chris Foy's decision to dismiss their stopper in the first period for a handball outside the penalty area.
The Canaries argued that the handball must be deliberate in keeping with the relevant rules of FIFA, but their appeal has been rejected by an independent regulatory commission.
Bunn will therefore be absent for the league clash with Wigan Athletic after the international break.
