Preview: Norwich City vs. Fulham

Sports Mole previews Thursday match between Norwich and Fulham at Carrow Road as the visitors look to move out of the bottom three.

Fulham could move out of the relegation zone with a win over Norwich City at Carrow Road on Boxing Day.

The Cottagers are currently on a torrid run of form having lost nine of their last 10 matches, but their performances under Rene Meulensteen have improved of late.

Fulham matched both Everton and Manchester City for large periods of their last two outings but still fell to heavy defeats in both games, conceding four goals in each.

The West Londoners have the worst defensive record in the top flight having conceded an average of two goals per game, an issue not helped by injuries to Philippe Senderos, Brede Hangeland and Matthew Briggs.

Fulham have lost their last five matches away from home in all competitions and have just one win on their travels in the league this season.

Meulensteen's men could be without Dimitar Berbatov again after he missed the Manchester City game with a groin injury, while Hugo Rodallega will also miss out with a similar problem.

Norwich will be looking for their first win over Fulham since 1986 as they try to extend their unbeaten streak to four matches.

The Canaries are just six points clear of the relegation zone and have the worst defensive record outside of the bottom two this season having conceded 29 goals.

Chris Hughton's side have only been beaten three times at Carrow Road in 2013, however, with their current unbeaten streak in front of their own fans sitting at four games.

Norwich have never scored a Premier League goal on Boxing Day in four attempts, but striker Gary Hooper goes into the match in good form having netted three times in his last three home games for the club.

Anthony Pilkington, Elliot Bennett and Alex Tettey all remain sidelined for the Canaries, while Jonny Howson is a new injury concern for Hughton and may miss the game with a back problem.
