Chris Hughton confirms Jonas Gutierrez interest

Norwich City boss Chris Hughton confirms that the club is interested in signing Newcastle United midfielder Jonas Gutierrez.

Norwich City boss Chris Hughton has confirmed that the club is interested in signing Jonas Gutierrez from Newcastle United.

It was reported on Monday morning that the Canaries were close to sealing a deal for the 30-year-old Argentine midfielder.

"There is an interest in Jonas Gutierrez but there's nothing to confirm at this moment," Hughton told reporters. "If that changes, we will let you know."

Gutierrez has 18 months remaining on his current contract with Newcastle.
