A late goal from Anthony Knockaert seals a Championship playoff place for Leicester City.

A late goal from Anthony Knockaert has given Leicester City the final playoff spot in the Championship following a 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest this afternoon.

The home side made a bright start, as Simon Cox broke the deadlock inside the opening two minutes, tapping in from close range.

The Foxes pressed hard for an equaliser, eventually finding the back of the net in the 22nd minute, as Matty James fired the ball in from outside the box.

The goal gave Leicester a confidence boost, and they took the lead just before the half-time whistle, with Andy King heading in from a Knockaert delivery.

Kasper Schmeichel had to be sharp at the start of the second half as Henri Lansbury looked to get the home side back on level terms, but the visiting keeper was able to stop his effort.

Forest won a free kick when Wes Morgan fouled Radoslaw Majewski, and Andy Reid's delivery was headed in by Elliott Ward.

The home side continued to test Schmeichel in the Foxes' goal, as Cox and Lansbury both looked to restore Forest's lead.

However, it was the visitors who snatched a late winner, as Knockaert struck the ball from close range in the 90th minute.

The result moves Leicester into sixth, while Forest finish eighth.
