Nottingham Forest sack Dougie Freedman

Nottingham Forest part company with manager Dougie Freedman, placing coach Paul Williams in charge until the end of the season.

Dougie Freedman has been relieved of his managerial duties at Nottingham Forest.

The 41-year-old former Forest striker took charge at the City Ground 13 months ago.

However, following a run of five defeats from six Championship outings, chairman Fawaz Al Hasawi has decided to wield the axe.

A short statement on the club's official website read: "The club would like to thank Dougie for all of his efforts during his time at the City Ground."

First-team coach Paul Williams has been placed in charge until the end of the season.
