Nottingham Forest sign ex-Everton striker Apostolos Vellios on four-year deal

Nottingham Forest announce the signing of former Everton striker Apostolos Vellios on a four-year deal.

Nottingham Forest have announced the signing of former Everton striker Apostolos Vellios on a four-year contract.

The Greek forward will arrive at the City Ground after spending a season at Iraklis Thessaloniki, where he began his career in 2008.

The 24-year-old, who scored 11 goals in the Greek Super League last season, is no stranger to English football having had spells at Everton and Blackpool.

Vellios had a three-year stint on Merseyside, and was loaned out to Blackpool on a short-term deal before leaving England for Lierse.

After spending a year in Belgium and a year back in his homeland, Vellios has returned to the UK to play in the Championship.
