Nottingham Forest have confirmed the free signing of defender Matt Mills from Bolton Wanderers.
The 28-year-old was a free agent this summer after coming to the end of his three-year contract with the Trotters.
He links up with former Bolton manager Dougie Freedman by joining Forest.
"It's a good thing for me that I know the way [Freedman] works and vice versa," Mills told Forest's website.
"Sometimes when you move to a new club it's a strange feeling in terms of having to prove yourself and maybe acting differently.
"This is a very comfortable situation for me. It's just a case of bedding in and taking it from there."
Mills made 41 appearances in his final season at Bolton, scoring five goals from centre-back.
