James Wilson's header has given Oldham Athletic a 1-0 half-time lead over Sheffield United in League One this evening, with both safely-placed sides looking to end the season on a high.
Oldham dominated the opening stages of the game and Gary Harkins went close early on when he tested the United keeper with a left-footed shot from the left side of the box.
The hosts took the lead with what was to be their second chance of the match, as Wilson converted a header into the bottom right corner after he latched on to Connor Brown's cross.
Jonson Clarke-Harris almost doubled Oldham's advantage after 30 minutes, but he saw his left-footed shot flash just wide of the post.
United's Jose Baxter wasted a good chance before the break when he lashed his effort from the centre of the box straight at grateful keeper Paul Rachubka in the Oldham goal.
