Oldham Athletic manager Lee Johnson has admitted that Sidney Schmeltz didn't fulfill his potential during his time at Boundary Park.
The Latics and Schmeltz have mutually agreed to part ways, with the winger not featuring in Johnson's first-team plans after failing to making an appearance for the League One club since New Year's Day.
The Oldham boss told the club's official website: "Sidney was a nice character to work with but sadly he didn't make the impact that everyone was hoping for.
"I want to thank him for all his efforts during his time with the club and I wish him all the best for the future."
Schmeltz is expected to continue his career in the Netherlands.
