Kaka inspires Orlando City to Los Angeles Galaxy rout

Kaka scores one and creates another as Orlando City thump MLS champions LA Galaxy 4-0 at the Citrus Bowl.

Kaka inspired Orlando City to a first victory in five outings after thumping MLS champions Los Angeles Galaxy 4-0 in Florida this morning.

The legendary Brazilian picked up a goal and an assist in the rout as Adrian Heath's side ended their four-game winless streak with a third win in their inaugural season.

Only 12 minutes elapsed before the hosts moved ahead, as Eric Avila headed Brek Shea's cross past Jaime Penedo to give City the ideal start at the Citrus Bowl.

Speculation is rife that Orlando will look to recruit Manchester United hitman Javier Hernandez - currently on loan at Real Madrid - during the summer.

However, striker Cyle Larin, who stands to lose the most in the event of a big-name arrival, responded to the rumours by latching on to Kaka's perfectly-weighted ball before firing past Penedo to score in his third successive game.

Despite winning the MLS Cup last season, Galaxy, without a host of their key players, struggled to fashion the chances needed to reduce the arrears.

Things went from bad to worse for the visitors on 56 minutes when Kaka won and converted a penalty for his fourth goal this season.

He was immediately booked for holding up Kevin Molino's jersey to the home fans - a tribute to his teammate who recently suffered cruciate ligament damage.

With just one shot on target prior to that, it seemed unlikely that there was a route back into the game for Galaxy, and Darwin Ceren made sure of the points in the final quarter.
