Oxford United sign Josh Parker

Oxford United complete the signing of former Queens Park Rangers forward Josh Parker on non-contract terms.

Oxford United have completed the signing of former Queens Park Rangers forward Josh Parker on non-contract terms.

The 22-year-old, who had been on trial at the club, moves to the Kassam Stadium to provide short-term cover for injured duo Jon-Paul Pittman and Deane Smalley.

"Josh has done well in training and now he gets a chance to show us what he can do over a slightly longer period," manager Chris Wilder told the club's official website.

"Deane Smalley and JP Pittman are both out so we needed cover over the busy Christmas period and Josh is hungry to come in and impress."

Parker, who had been a free agent since leaving Oldham Athletic in July, is expected to make his debut in today's League Two clash with Fleetwood Town.
