Panama have been dealt a blow ahead of the World Cup following confirmation that their star player Alberto Quintero will miss the tournament through injury.
The winger, who plays his club football for Peruvian side Universitario de Lima, suffered a foot fracture during a recent friendly international against Norway.
Panama, who were drawn in World Cup Group G along with England, have called up Ricardo Avila of KAA Gent to replace Quintero.
The national team head to Russia off the back of four wins, three draws and three defeats in their last 10 competitive fixtures.
However, they have struggled in friendly matches post-qualification and lost 1-0 to Norway thanks to a goal from Bournemouth striker Joshua King.
