Reports claiming that cash-strapped Parma have been officially dissolved are understood to be premature.
Rumours surfaced this evening suggesting that the former Serie A runners-up had told the league that they will not be able to fulfil their duties for the rest of the season.
It was claimed that they had been forced to call off Sunday's match with Udinese as they were unable to pay for stewarding costs, and league rules mean that they would be automatically relegated from the Italian top flight.
While their future remains hugely uncertain, they have not been officially dissolved as yet, according to Football Italia.
Parma's ownership has changed hands twice in the previous two months. The club are bottom of the Serie A table, with only 10 points from 23 games this season.
