Parma beat Atalanta BC in thriller

Parma take the spoils against Atalanta in a seven-goal thriller in Serie A.

Parma have ended up the victors in a seven-goal thriller in Serie A on Wednesday night, beating Atalanta BC 4-3.

Despite the number of goals, it took 19 minutes for the opener to go in as Djamel Mesbah fired into the top corner from distance.

Atalanta responded immediately and Giacomo Bonaventura netted from inside the box after being found by a German Denis knock-down.

In the 28th minute Antonio Cassano played in Marco Parolo, who made no mistake slotting the ball into the corner.

Aleandro Rosi extended Parma's lead with a low shot from the edge of the box before Parolo made it 4-1 with five minutes of the first half to play.

German Denis got one back on the stroke of the break, and despite a red card for Amauri Atalanta could not get back into the game despite a third through Marko Livaja with 10 minutes to play.
