The first half of the Eredivisie opener between PEC Zwolle and FC Utrecht at Ijsseldelta Stadion has finished goalless this evening.
The hosts had a chance to score the opening goal of the Dutch season less than two minutes into the match when Jody Lukoki crossed the ball in for Ryan Thomas, but the winger headed just over.
Diederik Boer had to remain alert in the Zwolle goal a few minutes later though as Mark Diemers tried to convert from a free kick, but the keeper was able to gather the ball to deny Utrecht.
Lukoki continued to pose a threat for Zwolle with some fast runs down the left flank, but was unable to connect with his teammates to break the deadlock.
Jesper Drost tried to curl the ball in from the edge of the box shortly before the break, but his finish drifted just wide of the post.
