Perth Glory played out the final 27 minutes with 10 men to move top of the A-League table with a 2-1 victory over Wellington Phoenix.
It took Perth just two minutes to take the lead when Youssouf Hersi burst down the flank before delivering a low cross for Daniel De Silva to tap home from close range.
Glory continued to dominate the early exchanges but Rony Bonevacia almost brought the visitors level midway through the half when his long-range effort crept past the post.
However, it was Glory who ended the half on the front foot with Nebojsa Marinkovic having a strike tipped over the crossbar, and after they began the second half in the same manner, they doubled their advantage.
Joshua Risdon made good ground down the wing before providing the cross for Andy Keogh to tap home for his fifth goal of the campaign.
Immediately after the goal, Ruben Zadkovich was introduced as a substitute but remarkably, he lasted less than two minutes on the pitch before being sent off for a high challenge on Vince Lia.
Despite the two-goal lead, that put the hosts under pressure and with six minutes remaining, Phoenix pulled a goal back from the penalty spot through Roy Krishna.
That resulted in a nervy closing stage for Glory but they held on to move above Melbourne Victory in the standings.
