Paolo Guerrero: 'Peru have proved doubters wrong'

Paolo Guerrero says that Peru are getting "better and better" following their victory over Bolivia in the quarter-finals of the Copa America.

Peru striker Paolo Guerrero has said that his country are improving with each game after reaching the semi-finals of the Copa America.

The 31-year-old netted a hat-trick in their 3-1 victory over Bolivia on Thursday evening to set up a last-four clash against hosts Chile.

"We're getting better and better," BBC Sport quotes Guerrero as saying.

"Not many people had much confidence in us before this tournament but once again we're showing that we're a good side."

Guerrero's treble means that he has now scored 24 international goals for Peru, two behind Teofilo Cubillas's record of 26.
