Pescara have earned three important points in their bid for Serie A survival thanks to a late 2-1 win over Catania at the Stadio Adriatico.
The result has seen Pescara move two points clear of the relegation zone, while Catania have remained in eighth place in the standings.
The visitors almost took the lead as early as the third minute, but Lucas Castro's effort from the angle came back off the post.
Despite Catania having the better of possession, it was Pescara who went ahead with 23 minutes on the clock as Mervan Celik fired in from the edge of the area.
The visitors were level 13 minutes later though when Pablo Barrientos converted following good work from Mariano Izco.
Celik had a chance to score his second goal of the night soon after the restart, but he was denied by Mariano Andujar.
Catania soon got themselves into the second period and they could have gone in front with chances falling to Sergio Almiron and Nicolas Spolli.
The game appeared to be heading for a draw when Eugenio Romulo Togni scored a free kick deep into injury to give Pescara the vital victory.
