New Besiktas manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has attempted to distance himself from interest in Manchester United duo Casemiro and Marcus Rashford.

After over three years away from the dugout, Solskjaer has been appointed as the new boss of the Turkish giants in a bid to kick-start their campaign.

While Besiktas are currently preparing for Europa League action against Athletic Bilbao, it is improving the club's current sixth place in the Super Lig table that is the Norwegian's priority.

Solskjaer has arrived at the Tupras Stadium with only a short amount of time remaining before the closing of the January transfer window, it natural for Besiktas to be linked with an array of notable names.

Manchester United have reportedly enquired about the availability of a Premier League left-back.

Sunday's 3-1 defeat at home to Brighton & Hove Albion highlighted the struggles that Ruben Amorim continues to encounter with his 3-4-3 formation at Old Trafford.

With Luke Shaw having barely played for a year and Tyrell Malacia allegedly available for a January exit, it has left United to consider alternatives.

On Monday, a report emerged suggesting that United had instigated formal discussions with Lecce regarding a potential deal for Patrick Dorgu.

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly been joined in the race to sign Southampton star Tyler Dibling by 'half of Europe'.

The winger was a relatively unknown when starting his first-ever Premier League campaign, yet he has established himself as a top European prospect in the space of five months.

Seventh starts and seven substitute outings have been provided for the 18-year-old, who has contributed four goals and two assists in all competitions.

However, with Dibling's contract only due to run until 2027 and Southampton at increasing risk of being relegated to the Championship, club officials must consider the best time to maximise the player's valuation.

Manchester City are reportedly closing in on the signing of teenage starlet Juma Bah, who currently plies his trade at La Liga side Real Valladolid.

The Citizens have already announced the arrival of two young central defenders this month in the form of 20-year-old Abdukodir Khusanov and 19-year-old Vitor Reis.

While Khusanov joined City from Lens for a reported €40m (£33.5m) on Monday, it was confirmed less than 24 hours later that the Premier League champions have signed Reis from Palmeiras for around €35m (£29.6m).

Pep Guardiola is keen to bolster his defensive options due to the club's persistent injury issues in that department, while Man City have also been seeking to address the age profile of the club's first-team squad, which has become the fourth oldest in the Premier League.

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly set their sights on signing Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni this summer.

The 25-year-old is widely regarded as one of the best defenders in Serie A and has established himself as a key player under manager Simone Inzaghi over the last three-and-a-half season.

Bastoni has made a total of 228 appearances for Inter across all competitions and has won seven trophies during his time at San Siro, including two Serie A titles.

The 33-cap Italy international has been recognised for his individual brilliance in recent seasons, having been named in the Serie A Team of the Year on three occasions in the last four years, while he was crowned 2023-24 Serie A Defender of the Year in Inter's title-winning campaign.

Barcelona can afford to sign Marcus Rashford this month and have made the Manchester United outcast their 'priority' target, according to a report.

Rashford has not played for the Red Devils since December 12 and has subsequently missed their last nine games after revealing last month that he is ready for a 'new challenge'.

The 28-year-old is widely expected to depart Old Trafford before the winter transfer window closes on February 3 - most likely on loan - and has been linked with a number of European clubs in recent weeks.

Borussia Dortmund are said to have ramped up their interest in signing Rashford, with officials of the Bundesliga club having held discussions with Man United over a loan proposal.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly identified Sporting Lisbon winger Geny Catamo as a potential January transfer target.

Vitor Pereira's side suffered their third successive defeat in the Premier League on Monday night as they lost 3-1 to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Having now conceded 51 goals in 22 matches to leave the club in 17th position in the table and only outside of the relegation zone on goal difference, Wolves' problem area of the pitch is clear.

With Mario Lemina potentially leaving Molineux before the February 3 deadline, acquiring a new central midfielder or player who can be deployed in a back three is a priority.

Manchester City have confirmed the signing of Brazilian defender Vitor Reis from Palmeiras for a reported €35m (£29.6m).

Reis, who turned 19 on January 12, has put pen to paper on a four-and-a-half-year contract and becomes Pep Guardiola's second signing of the January transfer window after defender Abdukodir Khusanov, whose €40m move from Lens was announced on Monday.

The centre-back will wear the No.22 shirt at Man City and leaves Palmeiras after making just 22 first-team appearances in all competitions since and including his senior debut in June last year.

"I'm excited to join Manchester City, one of the biggest clubs in the world," Reis told the club's official website. "Everyone has seen the amazing achievements in recent seasons, and I want to make my mark as we seek more trophies.

The long-serving academy graduate has been absent from Ruben Amorim's plans since a Europa League fixture with Viktoria Plzen on December 12.

At a time when Amorim has doubled down on several occasions over his decision to leave out the England international, Rashford has been linked with a wide array of clubs.
