A last minute goal from Jack McInerney earned Philadelphia Union a dramatic win over New England Revolution at PPL Park.
The visitors started the better of the two sides and found the opening goal of the match in the 12th minute when Saer Sene collected the ball from outside the area before striking the ball past a helpless Zac MacMath.
Philadelphia reacted well to the goal but the hosts could not find the cutting edge in the final third to force a way back into the match before the interval.
New England continued to defend stubbornly in the second half until Kevin Alston fouled McInerney inside the box to offer Philadelphia the chance to level the match.
Former Benfica forward Freddy Adu stepped up and calmly slotted the penalty past Matt Reis to score his third goal of the season with 30 minutes remaining in the game.
Adu came alive after his goal and almost turned provider when he picked out Williams but Reis saved the resulting shot.
With just seconds of the contest remaining, Sheanon Williams swung in a hopeful cross and McInerney nodded the ball into the bottom corner.
