Plymouth Argyle have secured the services of former Chesterfield defender Neal Trotman.
The 26-year-old, who has played under Argyle boss John Sheridan three times in his career, had been a free agent since leaving the Spireites at the end of last season.
A number of clubs had been linked with his services, but Sheridan has moved quickly to tie the defender to a short-term contract.
Trotman has also previously played for Southampton, Huddersfield Town and Rochdale.
