Ludovic Obraniak admits that Poland must make a fast start at Euro 2012 in order to progress.

Poland midfielder Ludovic Obraniak has said that his side must make a fast start at Euro 2012 in order to progress from the group stages.

Obraniak, 27, insists that he and his teammates are under no illusions going into the tournament, but is adamant that a fast start can fire the co-hosts from Group A and as far as the final eight.

"Our ambition is to reach the quarter-finals," he said.

"The expectations are huge. The first game will be paramount. It can either put us on the right track or make it all so much harder.

"We'll see what happens. We remain realistic at this stage."

Euro 2012 marks Poland's second participation in the tournament after debuting in 2008.
