Poland missed the chance to put pressure on England in Group H as they could only draw in their World Cup qualifying clash with Moldova.
The visitors started the game well and duly took the lead when skipper Jakub Blaszczykowski fired a right-footed shot into the net after being teed up Robert Lewandowski.
Poland could have doubled their advantage as Lewandowksi and Bartosz Salamon both went close with efforts but neither could beat Stanislav Namasco in the Moldova goal.
The duo were made to rue these missed chances when Eugen Sidorenco scored an equaliser for the hosts as he found the top corner with a right-footed effort in the 37th minute.
After the break, Lewandowski was in the action again but his shot from outside the box was straight at Namasco, who made a comfortable save.
Piotr Zielinski and Blaszczykowski combined well for set up a chance for the former but he could only blast his shot over from a tight angle. While minutes later Blaszczykowski was guilty of wasting another chance as he missed the target.
Poland continued to press for a winner but couldn't find another breakthrough as the home side held out for a point.
