Preview: BATE Borisov vs. Porto

Sports Mole previews with Champions League match between already-qualified Porto and Belarusian side BATE Borisov in Group H.

BATE Borisov will be hoping to keep their chances of progressing from Group H alive when they host Porto in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.

The Portuguese side are already assured of their place in the last 16, having picked up 10 points from their first four outings of this campaign.

With that in mind, Julen Lopetegui may rest some of his regular starters, having cruised to an easy 6-0 win over the Belarusian champions in their previous meeting.

Maicon is just a booking away from a suspension, so would be a candidate to drop to the bench, while Bruno Martins Indi is a doubt after missing international duty with the Netherlands last week through illness.

This will be Porto's first match since the international break as the Portuguese Liga did not return this weekend to allow a cup competition to take place.

The hosts cannot pass Porto at the top of the table, but are just five points behind second-placed Shakhtar Donetsk, so wins from their last two matches could be enough for them to sneak into the knockout stages.

While avoiding defeat in this match would all but secure their spot in the Europa League, BATE have won only once in the group so far and have suffered heavy defeats in their other three matches.

They are without Anri Khagush for this match as he is serving a suspension after being sent off against Shakhtar last time out, but they have an otherwise healthy squad.

BATE:

Form in Champions League: DWLWLL
Form in all competitions: LDWLWW

Possible starting lineup: Chernik, Olekhnovich, Gayduchik, Polyakov, Mladenovic, Yablonski, Volodko, Yakovlev, Karnitski, Gordeychuk, Signevich

Porto:

Form in Champions League: WWWDWW
Form in all competitions: LWWWWD

Possible starting lineup: Fabiano, Danilo, Neves, Sierra, Quaresma, Sandro, Oliver, Casemiro, Martinez, Aboubakar, Herrera

Sports Mole says: 0-3
