Preview: Porto vs. Shakhtar Donetsk

Sports Mole takes a closer look at the upcoming Champions League group encounter between the already-qualified Porto and Shakhtar Donetsk.

There will be little more than pride to play for when Porto host Shakhtar Donetsk at the Estadio do Dragao on Wednesday evening.

The two sides have already booked their places in the knockout stages of this season's Champions League, with the five-point margin between the pair ensuring that Porto have already won the group, irrespective of the outcome of this encounter.

The visiting Ukrainians will be forced into making alterations, with the competition's leading goalscorer Luiz Adriano suspended. Also banned are experienced Croatian full-back Darijo Srna and Oleksandr Kucher.

In contrast, Porto head coach Julen Lopetegui has no selection concerns, with a fully fit squad at his disposal.

As a result, it is expected that the likes of Jackson Martinez, Oliver Torres and Cristian Tello will all feature from the beginning.

These teams have met on two previous occasions in Portugal, both of which have been won by the home side. When they faced each other in Eastern Europe on matchday two, the contest ended in a 2-2 draw thanks to a late brace from Porto's Martinez.
