Portsmouth caretaker boss Guy Whittingham has revealed that he wants to bring Portuguese defender Ricardo Rocha back to the League One club.
The 34-year-old left Fratton Park at the end of last season after failing to agree terms with the club, but Whittingham has confirmed that talks have begun to re-sign the defender.
"I have had contact with Ric. There is a long way to go but he is one of the guys I would like to bring back," Whittingham told The News.
"There are two willing parties trying to do it. The circumstances we are under doesn't make it that easy, but I think he would love to come back and we would love to have him back so we'll see how we go.
"He has always stayed in touch. When I got the caretaker role, one of the first texts I had was from him wishing me all the best - and that's where it started."
Rocha made 76 appearances for Portsmouth.
