Preston North End captain Tom Clarke has signed a new three-year contract at Deepdale.
The 28-year-old joined Preston from Huddersfield Town in the summer of 2013 and has made 148 appearances for the Championship side in all competitions.
Clarke has revealed that he is "glad" that the deal has been signed following weeks of negotiation.
"I'm just glad that it's over the line now. I've been in talks for a while so I'm just happy that it's done and now I can concentrate on the football," Clarke told the club's official website.
Preston boss Simon Grayson added: "Tom has been here for a few years now and has been a very consistent performer. He is a whole-hearted player and like other members of the squad we wanted to try and secure him for the long term.
"He is still a willing learner, but he has valuable experience to share with the younger players in the squad, so we are delighted to add to the hard core who are with us for an extended period of time."
Clarke previously represented England at both Under-18 and Under-19 level.
