Paris Saint-Germain team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Montpellier

Sports Mole rounds up Paris Saint-Germain's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their Ligue 1 showdown with Montpellier on Saturday evening.

Paris Saint-Germain will be looking to keep the momentum going from their dramatic victory at Old Trafford when they travel to Montpellier for Saturday's Ligue 1 showdown.

Thomas Tuchel's men blew the race for Champions League last-16 qualification wide open with a 3-1 win on Manchester United's turf on Wednesday evening, with PSG now one of three sides sitting on nine points ahead of the final matchday in Group H.

However, the Ligue 1 champions are desperate to avoid another slip-up in the French top flight this weekend, with PSG losing to Monaco and playing out a draw with Bordeaux in their last two domestic outings.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of PSG's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their trip to Montpellier.

Mauro Icardi

Status: Out
Type of injury: Groin
Possible return date: Unknown

Mauro Icardi has been plagued by injuries this term, and the South American striker did not make the journey to Old Trafford due to a groin problem. Icardi is not expected to recover in time for Saturday's showdown with Montpellier either.

Pablo Sarabia

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: December 5 (vs. Montpellier)

Pablo Sarabia was another player who was not risked for the win over Man United due to a muscular problem. The Spaniard's injury is not thought to be serious and he could be back this weekend, but it is unlikely.

Julian Draxler

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: December 5 (vs. Montpellier)

Julian Draxler was thought to be in contention to face Man United in midweek, but the German playmaker did not make the journey as he continues to nurse a thigh problem. However, Draxler should be cleared to face Montpellier assuming his fitness is up to scratch.

Juan Bernat

Status: Out
Type of injury: ACL
Possible return date: Unknown

Juan Bernat is PSG's only long-term absentee at the moment with the ACL injury he suffered against Metz. The Spanish full-back is expected to remain on the sidelines until late February at the earliest.

PSG'S SUSPENSION LIST

Abdou Diallo was banned for the draw with Bordeaux but is back for this one, and PSG have no other players suspended for their encounter with Montpellier.
