Fabio Capello plays down Paris Saint-Germain talk

Fabio Capello says that he is ignoring speculation linking him with Paris Saint-Germain and is focused only on Russia.

Fabio Capello has distanced himself from rumours suggesting that he will become the next manager of Paris Saint-Germain.

Current boss Carlo Ancelotti has already asked to leave the Parc des Princes in order to succeed Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid, leading to speculation that Les Parisiens will turn to the former England coach.

However, the 66-year-old said that he has not been in contact with the Ligue 1 champions, insisting that he is focused on his job with Russia.

"I've read in the papers that there is apparently an interest in me, but the truth is that there has been no contact," the Italian told Gazzetta dello Sport. "I am focused on my job as coach of Russia.

"In life, you can never say never, but those who know me know I am a genuine person. I don't talk about ifs and buts. Right now, the reality is that I have a job with Russia."

Capello took charge of Russia in July of last year.
