Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma admits that having to battle with Keylor Navas for the number one spot is 'disturbing'.

Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has admitted that having to battle with Keylor Navas for the gloves at the Parc des Princes "disturbs" him.

The Euro 2020 winner was expected to displace Navas in between the sticks at PSG but has found it difficult to edge out his counterpart on a consistent basis.

Reports linking Donnarumma with an early exit from PSG due to his situation have been wide of the mark, but the Italy international has revealed that it "hurts" to warm the bench.

Speaking to TNT Sports, Donnarumma said: "It has no effect on my performances, but it disturbs me. It's not easy, because I was used to always starting and sometimes it hurts to be on the bench, but I'm sure the situation will be resolved."

Donnarumma has kept one clean sheet in five Ligue 1 starts for PSG this term, while Navas has three shut-outs in eight domestic appearances.

The 22-year-old's deal with Mauricio Pochettino's side is not due to expire until the end of the 2025-26 season.
