Marco Verratti: 'No regrets about Paris Saint-Germain switch'

Marco Verratti stands by his decision to leave Italian football and join Paris Saint-Germain.

Paris Saint-Germain's Marco Verratti has insisted that he has no regrets about joining the Ligue 1 club despite receiving offers to remain in Italy.

The midfielder signed for the Parisians from Pescara in 2012, shunning potential moves to the likes of Juventus and Napoli.

"I remain convinced that I made the right choice," he told Rai Sport. "I'm part of a great team and I play alongside lots of champions.

"I certainly don't miss Serie A seeing as I am very happy here.

"It was risky to leave my family at the age of 20, but this was the best choice for me. Paris is a city that opens your mind, you are in contact with the cultures from around the world."

Verratti has earned four caps for the Italy nation team since breaking into the squad last year, and scored one goal for his country.
