Preview: Caen vs. Paris Saint-Germain

Paris Saint-Germain will be hoping to end a frustrating run of three consecutive draws when they travel to Caen for a Ligue 1 fixture on Wednesday.

Paris Saint-Germain will be hoping that a frustrating run of draws will come to an end when they travel to Caen for a Ligue 1 fixture on Wednesday evening.

The defending champions have surrendered leads to draw their last three matches, including a 1-1 draw with Lyon on Sunday in which they conceded late on.

The result leaves Laurent Blanc's side fifth in the table, three points adrift of leaders Marseille, and three ahead of 10th-placed Caen, who have not won any of their last three matches.

They too let in late goals, two in the final 10 minutes in fact, in drawing 3-3 with Toulouse at the weekend, and will take little comfort in returning home, where they have lost both of their matches and failed to score this term.

Patrice Garande may recall striker Lenny Nangis at the expense of summer signing Herve Bazile in an attempt to end that run, but is unlikely to make other alterations for the visit of the title favourites.

PSG have been unable to kill off their opponents in recent matches, but that is no fault of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has found the net seven times in six appearances for the Parisian outfit this season.

That form means that the reportedly unsettled Edinson Cavani will have to continue playing off the left side, with Javier Pastore, Lucas Moura and Ezequiel Lavezzi competing for a start on the other wing.

With captain Thiago Silva still sidelined, young Brazilian Maruqinhos should continue to partner £50m man David Luiz in defence, with Blanc poised to chose from a group of full-backs that he has rotated freely.

Caen were one minute away from winning this fixture last season before Christophe Jallet rescue PSG a point.
