Paris Saint-Germain have signed off for the Ligue 1 winter break on a winning note thanks to a 3-1 defeat of Caen at the Parc des Princes.
Both sides began the game brightly, with Ronny Rodelin firing over the bar for Caen on three minutes and Kylian Mbappe also blasting off target in the fifth minute.
However, PSG grew into the game and took the lead in the 21st minute when Edinson Cavani backheeled Mbappe's low cross into the net from close range.
Caen fired back as Rodelin forced a smart save from Kevin Trapp with a 24th-minute volley, while Adama Mbengue fired across the face of the PSG goal on the stroke of half time.
Nonetheless, Unai Emery's charges went into the changing rooms a goal to the good and doubled their lead just before the hour mark.
Neymar released Giovani Lo Celso into the left-hand channel, and the Argentine crossed into the box for Mbappe to blast home with a fine finish on his left foot.
Yuri Berchiche then killed off the game with a third for PSG in the 81st minute, a ferocious finish into the bottom corner of Remy Vercoutre's net following a layoff from Neymar.
Caen managed to grab a consolation goal late on, however, when Thiago Silva's handball in the box meant a penalty for the visitors, which Ivan Santini drilled home.
