Evian win sees Paris Saint-Germain move to second in Ligue 1

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scores yet again for Paris Saint-Germain as they defeat Evian Thonon Gaillard 4-0 at home to move to second in Ligue 1.

Paris Saint-Germain have climbed up to second in Ligue 1 with a comprehensive 4-0 home victory over Evian Thonon Gaillard.

The home side were always in control of the match and tested the Evian defence in the seventh minute when Zlatan Ibrahimovic shot just wide.

A minute later the Swedish striker saw his shot from close range saved by Bertrand Laquait, who then denied Alex.

Ibrahimovic continued to be a nuisance for the visitors, as he went close in the 20th minute after some good work from Maxwell.

PSG eventually broke the deadlock in the 28th minute when Ibrahimovic fired in Christophe Jallet's cross from the centre of the Evian box.

Three minutes later Ibrahimovic turned provider when he put Ezequiel Lavezzi through on goal for the Argentine to score the home side's second goal of the evening.

The former Napoli forward came close to scoring again on 39 minutes when he headed Javier Pastore's cross from close range, but Laquait made a good save.

Carlos Ancelotti's side domination at Parc des Prince continued unabated in the second, Ibrahimovic once again testing the Evian goalkeeper from a narrow angle on the left.

The former AC Milan striker was unlucky not to find the target in the 64th minute when his shot from a Pastore cross came off the post.

Then with six minutes of normal time remaining, Thiago Motta made it 3-0 to PSG when he slotted home after latching on to Pastore's pass.

The midfielder was replaced two minutes later by Kevin Gameiro, who scored his side's fourth goal with his first touch by turning in Jeremy Menez's pass with an easy finish.
