PSV Eindhoven director Marcel Brands has claimed that Manchester United have not made a formal approach for defender Santiago Arias.
The North-West outfit are said to be considering an offer in the region of £6m for the 22-year-old in this summer's transfer window.
"We don't know anything about any interest [from United]," Brands told Algemeen Dagblad. "No team has made a formal approach for Santiago, but we do know that Arias is an interesting player for a number of teams.
"He is an attacking full-back and a Colombia international who will play at the World Cup for one of the top six countries."
Defence is expected to be a key area that United manager David Moyes will try to strengthen at the end of the season due to the departure of Nemanja Vidic and uncertain future of Patrice Evra.
