Queens Park Rangers assistant manager Kevin Bond has praised Joey Barton following the club's winning start to their Championship campaign.
The midfielder, who returned to Loftus Road this summer after last season's loan spell at Marseille, helped the R's earn a 2-1 victory over Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
"We played Joey because we felt he was the best person for the job," Bond told the club's official website.
"A lot has been said about him but from our point of view, in the month we've worked with him, he has trained really well and he looks fit.
"I don't know what the future holds for Joey but he certainly helped us win that game on Saturday."
QPR return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Exeter City in round one of the Capital One Cup.
