Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink takes charge of Queens Park Rangers training

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is pictured taking charge of Queens Park Rangers' morning training session after agreeing to leave his post as Burton Albion boss.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has taken charge of Queens Park Rangers training for the first time ahead of officially agreeing to join the club.

The 43-year-old has been heavily linked with the job which has been left vacant since Chris Ramsey was axed exactly one month ago.

While no announcement has yet been made by either QPR or current employers Burton Albion, Hasselbaink has effectively confirmed that he will take the Loftus Road helm by meeting his new players on Thursday morning.

Hasselbaink has achieved great success during his 13 months at Burton, taking the club from the third tier and leaving them while sitting at the top of the League One table.

The Brewers reluctantly gave the Dutchman permission to open talks with QPR on Wednesday afternoon, with the finishing touches now seemingly being put in place.

Neil Warnock had been placed in charge on an interim basis, bowing out with back-to-back league wins which lift the Hoops right back into playoff contention.
