Clint Hill: "Very important" that Queens Park Rangers claim bragging rights

Clint Hill acknowledges the importance of Queens Park Rangers beating Brentford this evening when they travel to Griffin Park for the first time in more than a decade.

Queens Park Rangers defender Clint Hill has talked up the importance of claiming bragging rights in this evening's West London derby.

The Hoops make the short five-mile trip to Griffin Park to take on rivals Brentford for the first time in 11 years.

Hill knows exactly what it means to come out on top in local derbies, having played in a number of them down the years, and he wants to ensure that it is QPR supporters heading home with a smile on their face.

Speaking to the club's official website, he said: "It is very, very important to the fans that you do well in these derby games by putting in a performance and getting the bragging rights.

"These are the big games that at the start of the season you look at first on the fixture list. I do and I am sure the fans do as well. The fans will work with Fulham and Brentford supporters and it is another three months before you play again so you've got that three months with them nagging you in your ear 'we beat you, stuffed you, done you' and that's not nice is it?

"It will make everyone's life a bit happier if you are on the right end of it. Then you can be giving it rather than receiving it."

QPR and Brentford are separated by just two points heading into the match, with the Bees needing a win to leapfrog their opponents in the Championship table.
